Happy Daring New Year

What a great time to start blogging again after a long time of college-hibernation.
Happy New Year everyone.
And with the start of this new year, I've decided to become a new me. By this, I don't mean I'm gonna take a major and life changing career decision (I wish, I'm still struggling with this), but to permanently feel good within and without.
A week before we took a turn into the year 2013, I decided that I will cut my hair and change its color. Frankly, it was a bold decision and up until the moment that I sat at the hair dresser's getting geared up for the process, I wasn't entirely sure if I was ready for this or not. But it turned out to have been a great decision. I'm very happy with the outcome and I highly encourage you to go for it, if you were debating a change in your look somehow.

So here are my resolutions for the new year for you:
Rouge Artist Natural from Make Up Forever
(Sephora)
Topshop
Topshop Graphic shirt
Criminal Damage Varsity Jacket
Asos
  1. Don't be afraid to change your hairstyle and color. Trust me it can totally change your perspective on life
  2. I know you look great without make-up, but you look even greater with. I'm not saying wake up everyday and dedicate an hour to apply it, but a popping color on your lips or a chic streak of eye liner can do a lot
  3. Pump up your wardrobe palette. If you know me, then you'll probably know that I'm obsessed with combining colors. Don't be afraid to combine bold colors, as long as it suits your skin color. This does not mean that this is exclusively done in the spring or summer.
  4. A trend of the year: combining formal-chic with casual trendy. We're seeing on the pages of a lot of fashion magazines the famous varsity jacket combined with a dress or a skirt. Add a bold red lip and you'll put your self esteem on a whole other level.
  5. Another trend: Monochrome Graphic. Combining black and white is an all time classic and can easily take you from day to night.
  6. Eat healthily. Ever since the age of 14, I have become very picky with my eating habits (desserts excluded). By taking control of what gets into your body, you're taking control of a lot of other factors that maintaining the perfect figure: you're controlling your mood, your health, you mind, your skin and a lot of other things.
  7. There's a reason people say that a healthy mind comes with healthy body. And with a healthy body comes Exercise. I've always struggled with this part throughout my life, as I was always depending on my ballet classes to do the magic for me (which worked to a certain extent). This year I want to have more control over my body and what it does and how it looks by going to more pilates and yoga classes.
And with this comes the end of my post and list of to-do's for you.
Of course this is a mere suggestion and as long as you feel happy within and without you can just ignore this list and keep doing what you do and share the love.
Ohh.. Let me add this, 'cause it's a very important point:

     8. Always add 'you' to you! Never give up your identity just because you think your style or personality is not "cool". Always add your personal touch to things, even if it's your grandma's brooch, because first of all, it's loads of fun; second of all, it's vintage!; and third of all, what are the chances that you'll find another person wearing the exact and same brooch?- not that many.

This year is all about you! Of course it's important to give and to help others, by all means Do it!, but never forget yourself. You need your care and help, too.

Feel good about yourself ladies! and have a great 2013!
